Artist's Description

This is an image of Pond Cypress tree's which are a major part of the Okefenokee Swamp that is located in Southern Georgia and Northern Florida. The Okefenokee Swamp derives its name from Choctaw Indian words meaning "quivering earth" or "Land of the Trembling Earth."

I am a professional photographer and artist living in Marietta, Georgia. I was fortunate enough to get my first job in photography while still in high school back in1979. I was working for a weekly newspaper in my small hometown in Pennsylvania. From that point, I was hooked. I left for school in Rhode Island to study Commercial Photography with an emphasis on Black and White film and processing. From there I traveled south to Atlanta, Georgia to study Advertising Photography at the Portfolio Center. I worked for a company doing studio and location photography for 19 years all the while doing freelance advertising and editorial (magazine/book) assignments.
